What are we offering?
Bayer Schering Pharma wishes to dedicate grants to further develop promising targets. In addition, we will bring in our expertise and technologies to help develop your ideas.
We intend to provide the following grants: Support Grants, Focus Grants and Collaborative Research Grants (see below for further details). The size of the individual grants will depend on the target specifics and the phase of development. Grants will vary accordingly and be limited to a maximum of €250,000. Please note that proposals can only be submitted via the website submission form.
In addition to the financial support, successful applicants may benefit from the pooling of expertise. This may include specific know-how in drug discovery and development. Bayer Schering Pharma has long-standing experience in drug discovery and development as well as a proven track record of collaborations with academic institutes, start-ups, and biotech companies.

Researchers from universities, other academic research institutes and start-up companies from all over the world.
What types of grants are offered?

- Support Grants (€5,000-€10,000) to further advance research on targets that are at a very early stage of discovery
- Focus Grants (€10,000-€125,000) for more mature ideas, e.g. to address specific aspects of a target as a first step towards transferring it to the drug-discovery process.
- Collaborative Grants (€50,000-€250,000) to move the target into the drug discovery process in a substantial joint effort.
Grant types need not to be selected by the grant applicant.
